Low Volume Pillow and a Winner

I wanted to make a "soft" colored pillow to go along with my low volume quilt. These live in our guest room. I definitely need practice with my crochet but from a distance my mistakes aren't glaring(I hope). If I ever decide that I need to be perfect, I'll probably just sit on my hands!

Another ongoing project is this little wallhanging. It's made from the cut off corners from my 1930's snowball nine-patch. I'm
going to hand quilt this one.

I also want to share some gifts I recently received. They are extra special because they are handmade and from true friends.

Cindy made me this beautiful scarf in my favorite shade of blue.

And Vicki made this lovely mug rug.

Thanks so much to those of you who stopped by from 2 Bags Full! The random organizer picked Melissa from Missouri as the winner of the giveaway.

Have a great week!!
Deborah xoxo

You have such a fun fabric stash . . . the vintage style is wonderful. What is the little bird fabric? I LOVE it.

Really like your scrappy leftovers from the snowballs. You make such good use of your extras, and you do everything so quickly! That Cindy is a generous person, isn't she? How nice that she made that scarf for you.

Hiya - you've been quiet lately but a little birdie may have mentioned on her blog that you've recently had a birthday so I thought I would say "Happy Birthday!!" Many happy returns!

Your crocheting sets the pillow off beautifully; no mistakes visible to me and I crochet some myself. The pillow edging has given me a couple ideas for the pillows I make; they would benefit from some decorative edging picking up the colors in their patchwork covers...

Your wall hanging is precious. I love the mix of fabrics and the way the flying geese look with two fabrics instead of just one-first time I have seen that particular style of geese. I do a lot of hand quilting too with threads like you've shown us. May I ask what needles you use please? I have difficulty finding needles with eyes big enough for the thread and yet not so big that it's really hard to pull them thru the cloth. Then threading the needles in another area in which I struggle. Perhaps a blog post on my own blog about this would stimulate some discussion and answers... thanks for the midnight inspiration. I love your style and as a first time visitor, I'll be back.
