This quilt came about when I decided to attack my overflowing scrap drawers. I would say this quilter has inspired me with her 101 scrap project challenge.
I pulled fabric from the "blues" drawer. I wasn't sure whether I'd add a border but then decided it need something to pull it together.
The border and backing are a Denyse Schmidt fabric from JoAnn. I needed a larger backing than I had planned for so I pieced in a section of Alex Anderson's Redwork Romance. The quilt is a twin size which is the largest quilt I've quilted myself. It took me a day and a few Advil.
This photo shows the colors as they actually are.....more vibrant than the first two photos.
My Fireworks quilt is going to be a longer term project. Each block takes me awhile and I want to sew other projects along the way. These are my first four and I'll be making a total of 16. Each block is 16.5 inches. The fabric is Florence from Denyse Schmidt. Someone seems to like this designer???
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you had a lovely weekend!
