AMH and Stars!

When I saw the Trade Winds and Stars quilt on Moda Bake Shop it was love at first sight. I love the bright colors and the secondary star pattern. I already had a stash of Anna Maria Horner's Loulouthi and Innocent Crush to use that would give me the depth of color I wanted. Wanting to stretch the size of the quilt I used 6 inch squares instead of charms. I might add a border but I'm still a little undecided. The red border on Button Tree Lane's quilt seems the perfect finish! 

Speaking of the color red.......a package from my sister arrived at my doorstep today. In the box was a lovely RED and white striped mug! The color red and mugs are on my list of favorite things. She also sent this beautiful dish towel. There's always a part of me that wants to cut up dish towels and use the fabric to quilt with, but I don't think I will in this case. And Cindy gave me the lovely crocheted potholder! Does she know my favorite color or what?!

Something(s) New

I made a toddler quilt for a little friend of ours. When I was in San Antonio I met a lovely family who are friends of my son's family. They are visiting from Germany. Their son Paul doesn't have a little quilt of his own so the first thing I did when I got home was make him one. I've had the Sandy Gervais fabric "Lollipop" waiting for the perfect project.

The flannel backing isn't part of the collection. I found it at my LQS and was pleased at how it blends with the Lollipops.

Guess who?

I used a new template that arrived while I was away. The 5 inch charm pack tumbler template is from BrazosBottomQuilts. It works like a charm(sorry.)

You can see how little waste there is. Love it.

I also finished a mug rug made from a pattern designed by my blogging friend Amy. Mr.W(hite)S(ocks) now knows that a mug rug is a large coaster that you can fit more than a cup on. Can you think of a better description?
