Congratulations to Kelly from Jeliquilts for winning the AMH scraps and pieces.
I ordered two charm packs of Dear Mr. Claus by Cosmo Cricket with the idea of making a small Christmas quilt for our grandson. I especially liked the old fashioned Santa in this line. Guess what......no Mr. Claus in the charm packs. Once I got over my disappointment I decided the fabric could be better used to make a few gifts. Using half square triangles, I put together a few variations.
They are lined with Insul-Bright making them more versatile.
We have a mug rug......or
a pot holder......or
or a candle mat.
As we all know there has been horrific devastation on the East Coast because of Hurricane Sandy. My blogging friend Jennifer, from Knotted-Thread has issued a plea to quilters. She's asking for help making quilt blocks and for donations. Please see her flickr group set up with all the information you'll need. Quilters have a wonderful way of offering support whenever and wherever they're needed.
See you soon! xoxo

Such sweet fabric - love your makes. Am going to have to google Insulbright now, I haven't come across it yet and it sounds interesting!
Happy weekend,

Ohh This is a very hard quilt and you have made it so perfect...:))
So beautiful...
No Santa's? What a swizz! I love your mini mats though!
Lovely makes and I'm sure they'll be well received!
Super cute mug rugs! I love them! It makes me want to make a set out of that line... :] Have a good weekend!
They look so crisp and pretty!

Well done to Kelly x
Love the Christmas makes. I will definitely be making a couple of blocks for Jennifer too x
Great use of those charms! Beautiful gifts :-) No Santa? Who would have thought?
I love your versatile Christmas mats, such a pretty line but such a shame there's no Santas in the charm packs.
What a clever use of the charm packs! I love that Santa too--what a shame it's not in the charm packs. :( I definitely have to get some of the line -- it's cute without being overly cute, if that makes any sense at all.
Have a great weekend!
I am loving your multi-purpose rug/mats. I want to sew something Christmas-y so badly! Thanks for the link to Knotted Thread.
They are absolutely gorgeous.
So fun!!! Disappointing about the lack of Santa in the precuts though.
Fabulous mug rugs! I love the fabrics you chose! I'm now following your blog! I'd love for you to share your mug rugs at my link party Submarine Sunday. It's open until Friday @ 11:59pm. I hope you'll stop by!

Your mug rugs are adorable! Great way to use your charms.
Just back and catching up, bummer on the Santa evasion, but well rescued!
What beautiful mug rug/pot holders! I love your fabrics and pattern! :) Have a wonderful day! xo Holly
As the official on-site observer, living in the space from which so many lovely works emerge -- creatio ex materia -- I wish to state and make known for the record that Miss Luella's great-niece is as sweet as her work is exquisite, and her self-set standard for quality in all aspects of each project is startlingly high. Moreover, I've loved her for thirty-eight years, and am tickled with the new look of the page. Note: This is my first comment; I neither sought her approbation nor apprised her of my little plan. Yikes! Jimmy (Mr. White Socks)
Gifts? Did you say gifts? Well, yes, please, I WOULD love one of these! And your new "look" is amazing!
Adorable, and such a versatile size! Love this idea, I really hope I'll have time to make something like this before Christmas =)
