What better work in progress is there than a grandbaby girl arriving in November? We have a grandson who will be two in November who was born on Cindy's birthday. They are birthday buddies.
The doll bed belonged to my daughter when she was little. She gave me permission to hand it down to her niece. I wish I had taken a before picture to show it in its original state. It was dark wood and needed a bit of brightening up.
I painted it and made a doll blanket with leftover squares from my great granny blocks.
Daisy Cottage fabric by Lori Holt is one of my favorites and I had the perfect piece for the quilt backing.
My friend Bev is having a lovely Daisy Cottage giveaway on her blog. She also has a wonderful etsy shop and provides excellent service!
Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
See you soon!

Your little doll bed set is to die for!! So pretty and elegant for your soon-to-be little granddaughter! Everything is just so exquisite!!
(I have my daughter's brown baby cradle, too. Now I know what to do with it if she has a little girl down the road.)
She will have some beautiful memories from this lovely gift from you....

Congrats on having another grandbaby! The little doll bed is adorable. I have kept all of my daughter's things they had as children. One day I hope to pass them all to grands!

It is all so beautiful and perfect, and bound to be cherished by the next generation x
Oh thanks for mentioning my giveaway! Now to talk about the bed and bedding! It is adorable! You are so talented! I just can't get over how all the things you do turn out so well! Your Field Study blocks are awesome! I made a doll quilt for Dylan's second birthday. It was one inch squares from scraps and I quilted it so much that it is stiff...sigh. I was just having fun quilting a little piece that was easy to manipulate and got carried away. She tries to use it. It's kind of sad. I offered to make another and she didn't want it. That was the point of this story..this will be a meaningful, well-loved quilt. Babies are so much fun! Thanks again for mentioning the giveaway!

Oh, how sweet! I've been wanting to make some doll quilts for my nieces. My 6 yr old niece (oh wow--today--thank you for triggering my mentioning her since today is her bday & I hadn't remembered. Eek!) just got her first American Girl doll and it'd be a fun gift. The doll bed with the quilt is just adorable! Love the AMH log cabin blocks, too. I have been eying the fabrics but haven't bought any yet... they are bolder than I am but as bold as I want to be, if that makes any sense. LOL
This is very sweet, to be treasured for a long time to come.
Oh it looks fab, a great makeover, I'm sure it will be dearly loved
