Miss Luella meets Aunt Millie

Miss Luella (my featherweight) and I went a little crazy in Aunt Millie's Closet.  I was trying to stretch myself with some creative fabric placement. I played with 2.5 inch squares until I was dizzy. At some point I just had to bite the bullet and sew!

Lori Holt, of Bee in My Bonnet, designs some of my favorite fabric. I've used Sew Cherry in previous projects and managed to sneak a few pieces into these blocks.
I'm also sewing blocks with Pam Kitty Morning fabric for a separate quilt. Can a person have too many Great Grannies? I don't think so!

After all this sewing with vibrant color, I think I'll be ready to sew a low volume quilt.

Deborah, these blocks are just the cutest! I have a layer cake of Millie's Closet that I've been saving for something special myself -- such a sweet collection of prints!

I am SO GLAD to find your blog! Your quilt creations are fabulous! I'm putting your blog on my blog's side bar right now! I am resisting doing these blocks because I promised myself I would finish my UFO Project before I started anything new...but it's killing me..heh heh. I love your blocks and love all of Lori Holt's fabrics. Have a great week!

I love the vibrant colors. I am doing a more subtle great granny for our bedroom (don't want to scare my husband out of there) but the next one will definitely be more fun.

You have a knack for pretty placements. I think I'm going to have to look up some Sew Cherry...looks like a line for me, too.

Thanks for stopping in and commenting on my blog. I have only been crocheting for two years but these African flower hexies are easy. I used Heidi Bear's tutorial for them.

Love your great grannies. I am making this quilt too but mine is being made in half the size as a doll quilt.

These are wonderful great granny square blocks!! Love all the fabric combinations you have going on. I have only made one of these blocks so far (as a test) but just received my fabric order so need to get started. I also ordered some of that Aunt Millie's Closet. So cute!
