Ruby Quilt & Giveaway!

Vintage Modern Wallhanging
I have a thing for Bonnie and Camille fabric. I'm just one of their many fans. I'll venture a guess that when their new line Marmalade is available, it will fly off its bolts and I'll be first in line. The above Vintage Modern wallhanging/table topper was a swap I sent to my friend Leanne.

I'm happy to say that I've made progress on my Ruby quilt. I'm going to add a few more rows....just enough to cover the white socks....and then add a border. Quilting style is still undecided.

Ruby Quilt
And changing things up a bit, I'm co-hosting a Crochet Along with Corey of Little Miss Shabby and Cindy of Live a Colorful Life. The Fusion Blanket Crochet Along was inspired by Corey's love of this luscious blanket. The love is contagious!

To kick off the Crochet Along we're each offering a giveaway.

Leave a comment and next Monday (July 2nd) I'll announce the winner of The Crochet Stitch Bible, the Summer edition of Crochet magazine and a Clover hook holder.

Be sure to visit Cindy's and Corey's blog for their fun giveaways!

I am excited to combine my limited crochet knowledge with my slightly better than beginner quilting skills. My mother was a crocheter. She made some of the most awesome stuff. As a kid I thought it was dorkey but now I realize she had amazing talent.

I agree with your thoughts on Bonnie & Camille, I have been nagging my local fabric shop about Marmalade since my first glimpse. I have not done any crochet for years, time to start again maybe.

Wow, great way to combine two of my loves! I have a couple of charm packs just waiting for something glorious like this... Question though: how big does it finish? I'm guessing if I use 2 charm packs I can get a bigger blanket... thinking Lion Brand fisherman's yarn perhaps as the yarn... OK, that's a lot of thoughts for a single comment, but I'd love your perspective! May not be crocheting-along (then again...) but love the idea!

Thank you for the lovely giveaway. My mother crochets and my sister is an amazing left-handed crocheter. I will be a rank beginner (my grandmother taught me a chain stitch many years ago so I'm not too swift). This would be a fun project.

I am really loving the idea of this project. Can't wait for it to start although I think I need to go get some new yarn - after all you can never have too much fabric or yarn!!

I love your wall hanging quilt. Beautiful job you've done with that. I am another huge fan of Bonnie and Camille.

My Mom taught me VERY little with crochet years ago when I was a teen. (Please don't ask just how many years ago that was K? LOL) Last year I got the bug and really wanted to learn much more than I had back then but never got too much further than buying a nice hook and after much frustration, figured out the yarn I had bought was not very good. I had nothing but problems with that yarn splitting if I just looked at it, I swear. It was horrible. Anyway, I'd love to win but, just to warn ahead of time, I know that currently I don't have the time to join in with your Crochet Along. I've been reading along so far however and plan to continue following since the info being given will surely help me. If you want to remove me from winning because of that, I totally understand but I wanted to be upfront. Long story but I'm dealing with some hand pain currently that won't allow me to use one of my hands in the way one would while crocheting. I would love to learn to do what you're showing with your quilt along because it will help me put crocheted edging onto baby blankets which was one reason I wanted to re-learn to crochet.

I am also guilty also of Bonnie and Camille "love." Second in line, I guess after you for the Marmalade! Great quilts, I like simple designs and so far am partial to miniatures that fit on a tabletop! I, however, haven't learned to do "flying" needle crafts!
