Scrappy Sew

Happy Mochi Yum Yum Scraps - Monica Solario Snow...Block designed by Angela Pingel

I'm taking part in my first sewing bee called Scrappy Sew bee it!  This block is called Stargazing and it's from the book Modern Blocks. This block is not only for the month of May but also for my new blogging friend May who lives in Germany! The queen bee of the month choses the block and we pull out our scraps. No problem there. I have lots of those.  Our bee members are from all corners of the world!

I used more of my Mochi scraps to make a quart size traveling pouch. The TSA requires a very utilitarian quart size plastic bag for all liquids carried onboard a plane. But who wants utilitarian  on a getaway? It seems much more agreeable to slip the plastic bag into something prettier after reaching a destination.

I love the selvage strips. Can you see the smiling faces in this close up shot?

These are just adorable, talk about travelling in style! I have kept the selve edge of one of my fabrics because it has cute little birds on it, but was unsure what to do with it. You have incorporated it brilliantly, love the smiley faces and that fabric is just gorgeous x

Such a pretty tote! I need to try a zipper. I'm scared!! You're right, much prettier than a ziplock. I thought you meant a reflection of a smiling face, so I looked closely and oh yes.....those faces! Lol such cute fabric.
