Yum! Yum! Ice Cream

I've finished the top of my Happy Mochi Yum Yum quilt. It's 62 1/2 by 82 1/2 which is bit larger than most of my quilts. I need 5 yards of fabric for the backing which translates into big $$$.

I don't usually like spending my fabric budget (budget? huh?) on backing. I have a bolt of Kona white so I thought I'd piece together some of that with leftover Mochi.

I need to get a picture of Mochi outside with Mr. White Socks holding it up. Somehow these indoor pictures aren't catching the vibrancy of the colors. I believe Monica Solorio Snow named her fabric line after Japanese Mochi Ice Cream. I think she got it just right!

Mr. White Socks holding my tumbler quilt.
Have a peaceful Sunday and a wonderful week. XOXO

Oh my this is sooooo beautiful, really love the colors & fabric, pretty, pretty, pretty!!!!!!!
I feel exactly the same when it comes to backings, oh boy they sure do end up costing a lot. Sometimes I look for a real nice flat sheet to use.
Have a lovely week

Okay, I know I'm getting older, but I don't think the one Mr. W.S. is holding up is Happy Mochi. It's pretty, though!

I like the happy prints in both of these tops. They make you smile, for sure! Congrats on having a quilt holder in socks, but they don't always stay white outside, lol ~

Have you ever backed with a vintage sheet? I have a few saved aside to do just that. Lovely quilts!

Missing your posts! Saw a note from you somewhere about quilt retreats up this way. I'll look into it! I don't know of any in my area. I think renting a big boat and taking sewing machines out for the day could be awesome!! :-)
