What's red and white and.......

FINISHED!

Snippets of Sherbet Pips! - say that fast -

The backing, border and polka dot binding are from Alex Anderson's collection, Redwork Rendevous.

And a bit of advice for anyone washing a red and white quilt.........don't forget the Color Catchers!

Here's a bouquet of tulips for you. I couldn't just leave you with that last picture of grunge!

Was that a whoop whoop I heard from you, Kris??

Congrats on the finish - your quilt looks fabulous. Sadly, I had a red quilt run even though I had pre-washed - we don't have color catchers in Canada. A lovely blog reader sent me a few to try to rescue my quilt and it did help. Thanks to my nephew and my husband's aunt I now have a nice little supply of those little gems.

Absolutely stunning. I am an old timey quilter. I was always admonished to prewash my fabrics. Now that I have started using precuts, I am mixing old, prewashed with unwashed precuts. It makes me nervous. Would prewashing the fabrics eliminate the running of the colors? Just asking, not being critical at all.

Wow! Lovely finish! Sometimes we need those physical reminders, don't we?

It's beautiful!!! I have a 'collection' of red and white fabric for a quilt and have been wondering what on earth I was thinking about as there's no red at all in my house but now I've seen your quilt I know that there's a red and white quilt in my future!! Oh, and I love all your fabric choices, I might have to look for some red Pips puppies - what a great idea!

I don't usually 'do' red, but this is all kinds of wonderful!

Fabulous finish! I love the prints, especially the little Pips pups. Did you use all of those color catchers in the same wash? Please share your secrets...your whites look nice and white! I love the design, too.

Love the red quilt--including the sherbert pips!--Also love the fact that those color catchers did the job. I'm wondering how many you put in each time and how many times did you have to wash the quilt? (Scary thought!)

Loving the red and white quilt! So vibrant and fresh. Like your blog, really. Just saw that Bob Dylan chair - the Hubby would love that one. XCathy

This is so beautiful. The background of your first few pics is wonderful, too. Is that in your yard? I think I'd want to curl right up there with that quilt and read a good book.

I haven't tried color catchers yet, but it looks like they work! If they didn't, you could have told us that you made a pink quilt and we probably wouldn't have known any different, but the red and white is stunning.

Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!?! Look at all of those color catchers and how red they are. Yikes. Good call using them!!!!

Simply beautiful. I have a bit of that line and wowsers that's a lot of red. I may have to prewash that bunch. Love the pattern.

Beautiful quilt! I'm wondering, did you prewash your fabrics? I have Alex's redwork romance collection and I'm saving it to make a red and white pineapple quilt. I prewashed the fabrics, but would be really disappointed if the color catchers would come out like your at the end...
