I've had Marsha McCloskey's book for at least 10 years. It was one of the first books I learned to quilt with and it is every bit as useful to me now as it was then. Unfortunately, I think it is out of print although used copies can still be found.
Charts are offered with each block with a choice of rotary (yes!) or template cutting. And alternate shading options are shown in illustrations.
And because I don't have enough projects going on (read sarcasm) I decided to take Marsha's blocks and dress them up with some fun contemporary fabric.

Your day on the couch looks so much more pleasant than my day on the couch!
Great book. Would love to make a sampler quilt out of different blocks!
Looks like a great book, I love the shading options! And I love the blocks you've made - it'll make a great quilt!
Good luck with the full quilt!
Are you sure you aren't me, but living on the other side of The Pond. First there is the UnRuly Quilting thing and now there's Diary of a Provincial Lady. I took it down off the shelf last week to read again. I've had it since 1991.
Now if that's not weird I don't know what is.
