Sizzling Grannies

I'm taking my granny squares in an entirely new direction. Rather than sewing strictly with scraps, I'm continuing with Malka Dubrawsky's A Stitch in Color fabric line. I've been mad for this fabric since I first saw it. It was time to stop admiring it and start sewing with it. I'm happy with my new hot grannies. Now, the question is, what do I do with my original grannies? I like Connie's table topper or wallhanging idea.

Sizzling Grannies

I'm hoping you'll stop by for the Blog Hop Party with giveaways starting this Friday the 16th.

I love these hot new grannies!! I had to go back and look at the first four you made and having done that I can confidently say they'd look great as a mini or a table topper!

You can never have too many cushion/pillow covers? Or maybe get some ideas from Sunni's Farmer's Wife series?

I'm thinking of a tropical somewhere with a cool drink and one of those little umbrellas!

Does you bedroom have these colors? A runner for the end of the bed would be fun!

I love the fabric, bright and modern and bold, perfect for this style. I've been making owl and kitty cat quilted cell phone covers for the kids and grand kids out of pinks, reds and orange scraps. I found it a great idea for carrying my Tracfone SVC cell phone for seniors, like me, around my neck. What I like about this $15 little cell phone is that it has larger keys and letters on the screen so that I can see who's calling and I can make calls without needing my reading glasses.
My hubby wants quilt covers for his ipad and nook next, I'm quite excited to make an army camouflage style cover and a psychedelic orange and purple one for the ipad. Groovy baby.
